Mikaela dengan berbagai macam cara berusaha membebaskan keluarganya dari sarang vampir, salah satunya yakni pura-pura setia dengan Ferid Bathory. Yakni salah satu dari ketua vampir. Namun, nahasnya usaha Mikaela sia-sia karena Ferid ternyata menjebaknya. Seluruh keluarga Hyakuya mati di tangan Ferid tetapi hanya Yuichiro yang bisa lari dari sana.
